What is Rheumatoid Arthritis?

What is arthritis
Arthritis literally means inflammation of joints, but in fact is a symptom that has many causes. The most common type of arthritis is osteoarthritis, which is caused by changes of individual joints, followed by rheumatoid arthritis, which is the connective tissue disease.

Osteoarthritis is a result of the deterioration of cartilage of joints; joints and bone remain unprotected and touch each other. When the movement of joints happens, it leads to friction of unprotected parts of the bones that can lead to their thickenings and the formation of bone prominence. Friction of thickened unprotected parts of the bones is causing pain.

Contrary to the general opinion, pain in joints and spine affect all age groups, are caused by heritage, injuries and diseases of joint cartilage. Changes in the joints in arthritis are persistent, but symptoms may get easier by healthy eating, changes in life habits, by exercising and taking medications that can be obtained without a prescription.
