Fish oil cures arthritis

Fish oil cures arthritis
A new study of the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia shows that, when taken in large doses, fish oil can help patients who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. Patients have at their disposal numerous methods of treatment rheumatoid arthritis, including steroids, analgesics and physiotherapy, but the researchers found that taking large doses of fish oil may also alleviate the symptoms of that disease. Patients who receive large doses of fish oil have shown drastic reduction of symptoms of illness than those who take the traditional medicines. After two months of fish oil treatment, symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis were weaker, some patients have felt more pleasant and mobile and had less need to take analgesics, which after a longer consumption increases cardiovascular risk and can cause problems in the upper part of the digestive tract.

However, the vice-president of Australian medical associations Peter Ford warns that fish oil does not help at all types of arthritis, and emphasizes that it is useful at inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatic which affects one percent of Australians. Taking large doses of fish oil does not have serious consequences, but patients may have problems with digestion and unpleasant breath.
