Uric arthritis is a metabolic disease characterized by high value of uric acid in the blood, recurrent attacks of acute arthritis caused by disposal of uric acid salts in the joint, and disposal of these same salts in the tissues and creating uric stones.
Uric arthritis is known to the people under the name of gout.

Gout is the oldest described rheumatic disease (the first records date from the time of Babylon, where was described a very large clinical picture without, for that time, knowledge about the pathophysiology of disease). The same condition in the sixties of 20th century, found its place in the classification of rheumatic diseases - only then was known its pathophysiology and the reasons for the attacks of acute arthritis.
Epidemiologically we might say that this is a disease of men between 40 and 50 years of life (women rarely get sick in this age) and well nourished and healthy men, whose acute attacks of very painful joints regularly occur after eating rich and excessive drinking.
